ITINERARY

Day 1
Arrive in Zhangjiajie. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore all of the features of the hotel or the surrounding area, or to simply relax and rest.

Day 2 (Meals: B, L, D)
After breakfast, discover the natural wonders of Baofeng Lake. Baofeng Lake is one of the most beautiful scenes in Wulingyuan Scenic Area. It’s a rare lake on the plane, surrounded by green mountains, green water and beautiful landscapes. This will be followed by a visit to the Yellow Dragon Cave, known as “the best cave in China, the underground magic palace and a world wonder — enjoy the “magic of the Chinese Dong Fu, cave wonders of the world.” The major scenic spots in the cave include “the mansion beyond the mansion,” the “cave beyond the cave,” the “mountain beyond the mountain,” and the “heaven beyond heaven.” The most miraculous stalactites are Ding Hai Shen Zhen (a long and thin pillar) and Long Wang Bao Zuo (Dragon King’s Throne). Ding Hai Shen Zhen stands 19.2 meters high at a diameter of 10 cm. With colorful lights, the scenery in the cave is so fascinating that many visitors who have come here don’t want to leave.

Day 3 (Meals: B, L, D)
Ride the Bailong Elevator up to Yuanjiajie. The Bailong Elevator is a glass elevator built onto the side of a huge cliff that is 1,070 feet (330 m) high. It is claimed to be the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world, and currently holds three Guinness world Records — world’s tallest full-exposure outdoor elevator, world’s tallest double-deck sightseeing elevator and world’s fastest passenger traffic elevator with biggest carrying capacity. It takes about two minutes to complete the journey from the base of the cliff to the top and sightseeing in the back garden, Mihun Stage. This is such a desirable place to enjoy fascinating scenery. Observe the many peaks standing majestically — lofty ones and short ones, some massive and some small — a vast panorama. Here you can view the First Bridge under the Sun which appeared in the film Avatar many times. From here, travel by eco-car to Emperor Mountain to visit Helong Park, where there is another terrace for panoramic views. The park is in commemoration of Marshal He Long of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. As you come down by cable car, the peaks take on named images, such as “fairy maiden presenting flowers” etc. You will visit the Ten Li Gallery — as you walk into the valley, it is as if you are stepping into a graceful portrait of mountains and waterways, with more named peaks such as the God of Longevity Greeting Guests, the Herb Picking Old Man, and the Three Sisters Peaks.

Day 4 (Meals: B, L, D)
After breakfast, drive to Zhangjiajie and visit Tianmen Mountain by cable car. This cableway is claimed to be the “longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world”, with 98 cars and a total length of 7,455 meters and ascent of 1,279 meters. Tourists can walk on kilometers of paths built onto the cliff face at the top of the mountain, including sections with glass floors. An 11km road with 99 bends also reaches the top of the mountain and takes visitors to Tianmen Cave, a natural hole in the mountain of a height of 131.5 meters. You will also visit Guigu Cave, one of 16 caves in Tianmen Mountain, that hangs on the cliffs with a height of tens of thousands meters.

Later, visit Junsheng Gallery. The Gallery is owned by Li Junsheng, a famous artist who is good at creating sandstone paintings that have been exhibited in Paris and the US. He has spent 46 years in painting, deriving inspiration for his multi-textured paintings from the natural beauty of Zhangjiajie. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your flight onward.
